Bill Burr To Star In FX Pilot

Bill Burr has landed a pilot deal with FX. The series, “Pariah” will star Burr as Joe Abbott an angry TV host who has an on-air meltdown and finds himself out of show business with no usable skills.

According to Deadline, the show will be executive produced by Bill Burr along with “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” writers and producers John Chernin and Dave Chernin, who co-created “Pariah”. “Sunny” creator Rob McElhenney will direct the show.

President of Original Programming for FX Networks Nick Grad called Bill Burr “a great comedic talent” and said Burr teaming up with the “Always Sunny” team is “a recipe for a terrific comedy pilot.”

“Pariah” is one of 5 new comedies in development at FX and sister network FXX including “Baskets” starring Zach Galifianakis, “The Tracy Morgan Project” (FXX), The Comedians (FX), starring Billy Crystal and Josh Gad, “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll” (FX), starring Denis Leary, John Corbett and Robert Kelly and “Man Seeking Woman” (FXX), starring Jay Baruchel.
