Banned by the ASA

We know that here in the U.S. there is a growing problem of self censorship– corporations yanking advertising at the drop of a hat if they get a few complaints.  But in the U.K., it’s even worse, because they have the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) to deal with and when they get a handful of complaints, they’ll ban an ad.

Recently a David-Beckham in tight ‘manties’ ad survived the ASA’s heavy  ban-hand, and Buzzfeed.com is celebrating by collecting some ads that were not so lucky.  You’ve seen a few of these on our site before but now you get them collected all in once place.

Thanks to buzzfeed.com for the links. Check out the images here then click over to buzzfeed for the ASA’s explanations.
