Arrested Development Cast Standing Behind Jeffrey Tambor, According to Cross

The cast of Arrested Development is standing behind Jeffrey Tambor, at least according to co-star David Cross.  Just one week after the news that Transparent was cutting Tambor loose from its cast hit the internet, David Cross told am New York in an interview that while he can’t speak for every single member of the cast of AD, “there are a number of us who stand behind him. From the limited amount we know, we stand behind Jeffrey — and I am one of them,” he said. Cross plays Tobias Funke on Arrested Development.  In the series, Tambor plays patriarch and series catalyst George Bluth, Sr.

Tambor, who maintains his innocence in the face of sexual harassment allegations recently lashed out at Transparent creator and EP Jill Soloway, accusing her of a deeply flawed investigation of his behavior on the set of the Amazon Prime series.

The fifth season of Arrested Development wrapped shooting in November, and is scheduled to air sometime in 2018, possibly as early as the spring.  Cross said while he is not in the offices making decisions about whether the controversy will affect the release, he hopes not. “I doubt it, but I don’t know.”

“I think it’s very curious that Amazon didn’t make public the results of their internal investigation,” Cross said in the interview. “I’m not sure why they would do that.”
