Anthony Cumia Announces New Co-Host

It’s a date that show host and network EP Anthony Cumia has been promoting for weeks- and it’s not the eclipse. After three years as a solo act on his own Compound Media network, Anthony Cumia has decided to take on a co-host. He announced his new podcasting partner via an elaborate “To Tell the Truth” scenario on his show today. After teasing that his new co-host might be Jim Norton, Ron Bennington, Rich Vos, Robert Kelly or Nick Di Paolo — all great choices, Cumia finally announced that Artie Lange would be joining his show which runs four days a week from 4pm to 6pm et. Norton and Bennington each have their own shows on SiriusXM daily. The new show will be branded The Artie and Anthony Show.

Cumia also revealed that two billboards advertising he and Lange’s new show are running in Jersey for a week- one on the NJ Turnpike and one on 495 on the way to the Lincoln Tunnel.

Fans of Cumia’s show have long suspected it was Lange who was set for the mystery second chair, especially after Artie announced he was shutting down his well-known Artie Quitter podcast. Even Anthony’s former radio mate Gregg ‘Opie’ Hughes said as much on a live stream from his phone on Sunday afternoon. Ironically, back in October 2016, when Opie first split from Jim Norton to do his own afternoon show, Hughes hinted that Lange would be his new co-host, but that turned out to be a false rumor.

This time Lange’s role is legit.

Lange, of course, has plenty of radio experience. Not only was he a part of the Howard Stern Show from 2001 to 2008, he also co-hosted the Nick and Artie Show with Nick Di Paolo for DirecTV followed by The Artie Lange Show on DirecTV and of course his own podcast recorded in his own kitchen.

The new AA show officially begins September 5th. T-shirts are already available at compoundmedia.com.
