Another Study From Twitter

Yet another university, corporation or research group is using the twitter to gauge the human condition. This time Jacob Eisenstein at the Georgia Institute of Technology and his colleagues used Twitter to examine the origins of slang and how it spreads through the country. What they found was that places like New York, SoCal, and Atlanta are hotbeds for new slang, but that certain slang associated with one region may not have started there. The word “Bruh” actually started in the southeast before migrating to southern California.
