Another Legendary Club Closing

maxwellsMaxwell’s, the legendary rock club that was key in the development of the indie rock scene of the 80’s and 90’s, will be closing its doors at the end of July. Owners cite Hoboken’s changing landscape – and the increasing difficulties running a live music venue as the reason not to renew the lease. Maxwell’s a key venue in the development of such bands as The Replacements, Nirvana, Soundgarden, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and many more.
