Amy Schumer Releases Unaired Gun Violence Sketch

unaired gun sketch inside amy schumer

In the wake of the recent mass shooting at Orlando, Florida’s Pulse nightclub, in which 49 people were killed and another 53 wounded, comedian Amy Schumer released a previously unaired sketch from Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer.

In the sketch, Archer’s H. Jon Benjamin plays lawyer Toby Shrak of the law firm of Shrak and Murphy. Shrak and his (now deceased) brother have been lawyers for twenty years and have successfully helped clients file claims for all sorts of tragedies — except victims of gun violence. As Shrak very pointedly puts it: “Since my brother caught a stray bullet at a mall shooting, I found out it’s not even worth it to try to sue gun or ammo manufacturers because the law gives them almost complete immunity from liability.” The commercial then shows testimonials from various victims of shootings who tried, and failed, to get compensation for their life-altering injuries.

“They don’t call me ‘Wow, Thanks For Nothing Shrak,’ for nothing,” promises Shrak.
