It’s been quite a 2015 for Amy Schumer.  Another successful season of her Comedy Central series, Inside Amy Schumer, writing and starring in the hit Judd Apatow-directed film, Trainwreck, and headlining an HBO comedy special at The Apollo Theater.

Now, the always button pushing comic has posted a new pic that is bound to make headlines.  World class photographer Annie Leibovitz took the photo with Schumer describing herself as a ‘Beautiful, gross, strong, thin, fat, pretty, ugly, sexy, disgusting, flawless, woman’.

Schumer has not shied away from issues pertaining to her appearance, her battles with weight, self-worth and perceptions of what is and is not beautiful, incorporating it into her stand up, her TV show and in media appearances.  For Leibovitz, this new pic will certainly recall her previous work with such celebs as Demi Moore and Miley Cyrus as far as sparking a national debate.

The photo will be part of the 43rd edition of the Pirelli Calendar, which usually features supermodels and actresses such as Naomi Campbell, Penelope Cruz, Kate Moss, and Cindy Crawford.  Leibovitz wanted to do something ‘quite different’ with this year’s calendar and included other distinguished women known for other things outside of, and including, their looks.

The Pirelli Calendar, typically known for classic pin-up poses from the world’s most glamorous and flawless sex symbols—Naomi Campbell, Penelope Cruz, Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford— features some of the world’s most distinguished women, all noted for things other than, but also including, their looks this year.  In addition to Schumer, the calendar will include director Ava DuVernay, Serena Williams, film producer Kathleen Kennedy, Yoko Ono, Fran Lebowitz, among others.
