Amy Schumer Furious, Calls Trump Voters “Weak”, “Babies”

Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen Preview Bud Light Super Bowl Campaign

Late last night, we posted reactions from comedians on Twitter to the news that Trump was going to be our next president. A notably absent Tweeter was Amy Schumer, who didn’t post on social media last night while the returns were coming in.

Today she posted a statement on Instagram revealing deep anguish, and a lot of anger over the results of the election. She confirmed that she has no plans to move out of the country– “First of all the interview where I said I would move was in London and was said in jest,” — and expressed disgust for those telling her she isn’t welcome in America anymore. “Anyone saying pack your bags is just as disgusting as anyone who voted for this racist homophobic openly disrespectful woman abuser.”

Her heart is broken, she wrote, particularly for anyone bringing children into the world. Schumer referred to those who voted for Trump as “weak”, “misinformed”, “kicking and screaming babies,” and people who “didn’t even attempt information.”

For those who hung their decision on the Hillary emails, Schumer addressed the fact that most people who complained about Hillary’s emails don’t even know what was in the emails. Praising Hillary’s public service record, and pointing out some Trump transgressions, Schumer says “She would have taken care of us.”  “She would have protected you.”

Despite that a Clinton victory would have raised her taxes, Amy says she would have gladly paid those additional taxes “to take care of the people in need.”

Schumer had fiercely campaigned for Clinton throughout the election, and even famously walked 200 audience members in Tampa for bringing politics to the stage. Read Amy’s full Instagram statement below.
