Always Sunny’s Rob McElhenney Making His Film Directing Debut

Rob McElhenney who co-created and co-stars in “Always Sunny in Philadelphia” is going behind the camera to direct his first feature film. Legendary Pictures has signed a deal with McElhenney to direct and write the screenplay for an family action picture titled “Figment”.

It’s reported that McElhenney’s 4 minute test reel and his twenty minute pitch for “Figment” was so impressive that the studio bought it right there on the spot.  The film is describe by Deadline as, ‘a family action adventure about an imaginative boy and his family who are thrown for a loop when their greatest fears come to life.”

Because when you think of a family friendly action movies…you think of man who created Always Sunny.  No word yet on whether Mac and Cheese will be involved.
