Adam Sandler Next Netflix Movie Drops a Preview

Adam Sandler Next Netflix

Adam Sandler and David Spade Arrive at Netflix May 27

Back in 2014, Adam Sandler and Netflix stunned the industry with the announcement that Sandler would create, produce, and star in four movies exclusively for Netflix. It was unheard of, as direct release on a streaming platform seemed more akin to sraight-to-dvd then a theatrical release, which was more traditionally the sign of a bad movie that wouldn’t perform well at the box office.  But Sandler’s pictures make money in theaters, making the deal surprising.  His first release of the four, The Ridiculous 6 may not have gotten critical raves, but it definitely delivered for Netflix.  In only 30 days, it took over the record for the most viewed property of all time on Netflix, beating out every original and every licensed film that Netflix has ever run.

Now the preview has dropped for Sandler’s second Netflix exclusive, The Do Over.  The movie follows the life of a bank manager whose world is turned upside down when a friend from his past manipulates him into faking his own death and taking off on an adventure.  Starring Sandler and David Spade, the all-star cast also includes Paula Patton, Kathryn Hahn, Sean Astin, Catherine Bell, Michael Chiklis, Luis Guzman, Natasha Leggero, Nick Swardson, Torsten Voges, Renee Taylor and Matt Walsh.

Directed by Steven Brill and written by Kevin Barnett and Chris Pappas, The Do-Over is a Happy Madison Production for Netflix. Adam Sandler, Allen Covert and Kevin Grady are producers.

The Do-Over will premiere on Netflix on Friday, May 27.
