A Minnesota Dentist Paid $55,000 To Hunt A Lion In Africa

cecilA 13 year old lion named Cecil was shot with a bow and arrow and killed after a Minnesota dentist paid guides in Zimbabwe $55,000 dollars to hunt the animal. The lion was a local favorite inside the protected park it lived in. The guides lured the lion out of the confines of the park and it was hunted and killed by the dentist, Walter Palmer.

Palmer released a statement saying he had no idea what he did was illegal and that his guides assured him everything was in order. The lion was skinned and beheaded after its death. $55,000 for a severed lion’s head can’t be beat unless you paid $100,000 for the paws of newborn puppies, which Palmer is rumored to be bidding on.
