3rd Annual ‘26th Annual Comedy Festival’ To Be Held June 1st-5th

The A.V. Club, in conjunction with The Onion, ClickHole, and truTV will be hosting their 3rd annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival from June 1st to June 5th.  The festival, which will take place in Chicago as per usual, will feature multiple stand-up shows across various venues in the city. Among the performers this year will be , , Michael Che, Jessica Williams, , Chris Gethard, and Jenny Slate, among others.

Tracy Morgan, of SNL and 30 Rock fame, will be opening as one of the festival’s headliners with a stand-up set at the Civic Opera House on Wednesday, June 1st at 8 p.m.

On Thursday, June 2nd, fans will be able to catch two stellar stand-up acts: SNL alum Michael Che at Lincoln Hall at 8 p.m. and Fuse/Broad City’s Chris Gethard at Thalia Hall, also at 8 p.m.

Those same venues will play host to two comedy groups on Friday, June 3rd: Big Terrific featuring Jenny Slate, Gabe Liedman, and Max Silvestri will be playing Thalia Hall at 8 p.m., while Jessica Williams () and Phoebe Robinson (Girl Code) of 2 Dope Queens take the stage over at Lincoln Hall, also at 8 p.m. That same night, members of the ClickHole staff will be hosting Amazing: A Live Show at The Hideout at 10 p.m.

Saturday, June 4th will feature three different performers, plus a band, taking the stage. Reggie Watts and his band Karen will be playing Thalia Hall at 8 p.m.; Over at The Hideout, Ian Abramson will be hosting his show 7 Minutes in Purgatory, which features comics performing sets to empty clubs while an audience watches from a separate location, at 7 p.m. At 10 p.m., comedian and UCB alum Jo Firestone will perform a set at the venue as well.

To round out the events, headliner Sarah Silverman will perform a show called Sarah Silverman and Friends at 8 p.m. at the Civic Opera House. The Friends in question are fellow comics Todd Glass, Todd Barry, and Dwayne Kennedy. Tickets for that show will likely go fast, so grab yours quick!
