The coolest kid of the ’80s who every kid wanted to be, Ferris Bueller is getting a little festival for himself in Chicago. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off came out 30 years ago and Chicago wants to celebrate that fact with Ferris Fest. There is going to be a whole lot of fun at this bash including a detailed and fully functional recreation of Ferris’ room, a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder, a tour that goes to all of the spots visited in the movie including Cameron’s House, the High School, Willis Tower, the Save Ferris Water Tower, the Chicago Institute of Art and the chance to sit in the exact seats in Wrigley Field, a screening of the film with appearances by some cast members and probably the coolest thing: a re enactment of the Twist & Shout parade! Cindy Pickett and Lyman Ward, who portrayed Ferris Bueller’s parents, and Jonathan Schmock, who played the French restaurant maitre d’, have officially confirmed that they will be attending. The festival founders are currently in talks with Alan Ruck and have offered invites to Matthew Broderick, Mia Sara, Jennifer Grey, Edie McClurg and Ben Stein.

A portion of ticket sales will support national charity Stomp Out Bullying. Ferris Fest is produced by Radio Titans. For more information check out website: www.ferrisfest.com.
