21 Young Comics Will Get the Comedy Central Spotlight at Colossal Custerfest

Last year at their inaugural now annual “Colossal Clusterfest” comedy festival, Comedy Central gave the stage to up and coming comedians who are performing in various roles on the network in a series they’re calling Up Next (not to be confused with our Phil Provencio produced up and coming comic photo series).  It’s a bit like their own version of the infamous JFL series, “New Faces” and today they announced a new class of 21 young comics who will get the chance to take the stage at the festival including some names that should be familiar to our regular readers including Steph Tolev, Amy Miller, Molly Austin, Sydnee Washington and Jabookie Young White.

Network stars Chris Redd, Julian McCollough will each host a nights of performances by the young comics, on Friday June 1 and Saturday June 2. Tim Dillon (Friday) and Mark Normand (Saturday) will perform as special guests.  All shows will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in the 415 Comedy Club room.

Comedy Central also announced a third show that will be hosted by Matthew Broussard on Sunday that will be more of a variety showcase.  Scroll down for the full line ups.

Up Next is an annual showcase featuring a wide range of diversely talented comedians who have been selected by Comedy Central following a nation-wide search with showcases across the country. The showcases serve as an important step in Comedy Central’s development process and are designed to spotlight the most exciting new voices in comedy. This year’s addition to stand-up is the Up Next Variety showcase which features some of the most exciting and innovative sketch/character/musical performers in a multimedia show that includes both live performance and pre-taped sketch videos starring each variety performer.

Clusterfest is co-produced by Comedy Central, the #1 brand in comedy, Superfly, the brains behind Bonnaroo, and Outside Lands co-producer Another Planet Entertainment. The three-day comedy and music festival takes place in San Francisco June 1-3, 2018 and tickets are on sale at www.clusterfest.com.
