42 Classic Rock Photos from the 60s and 70s

In the 60′s and 70′s, without having the internet to research great bands and artists, you rarely got the chance to “see” them the way you can now.  So every photo that got put onto an album cover, or in a magazine article, was precious.  The rock photographers of the 60′s and 70′s were all you had to bring your favorite performers closer, and so their images were precious.  Photographers like Bob Gruen, Mick Rock, Robert Altman, Jim Marshall, Henry Diltz, Annie Leibowitz, Neal Preston, Janette Beckman, Baron Wolman, Barry Wentzell, and so many others were names you may not have known back then,  helped to capture and communicate the light, the life and the legacy of all the great performers.  Here are just a few– 42 in fact– of their images.

Those brief peeks behind the curtain of rock stardom were so precious back then, this is a very cool piece, thanks!

@Maybrick @Docintoxicated  in 1969 while you're playing San Quentin prison it was pretty god damn bad ass... Especially since much of your career your songs were spirituals
