Storm Chasers Were 3 Of The 9 Killed In Recent Oklahoma Tornadoes


tim-samaras-resized-story-bodyThree of the people killed during the tornadoes on Friday were from the former Discovery Channel show “Storm Chasers”. Tim Samaras, his son Paul Samaras, and Carl Young were killed while following a tornado in El Reno, Oklahoma, relatives told CNN on Sunday. Tim had founded TWISTEX, the Tactical Weather Instrumented Sampling in Tornadoes Experiment, to research the storms and tried to improve warning time.

these must have been the evil corporate storm chasers. they dont love tornados like bill paxton does.

i would bet no one yelled " Oh NO We're going innnnnnnn" that might have prevented this

Wow.  Very surprised.  He seemed to be much more into the science than an adrenaline junky looking to sell footage to the news.  Came off as a guy that always played it safe, overly safe.   Damn.

I've got a friend that is always glued to tornado coverage. I tell her that she's addicted to 'Disaster Porn'.  I blame her personally for these deaths.
