Floatingsheep.org, using certain racist keywords, were able to correlate where the most racist tweets were coming from in the United States, thanks also to geotagging. And surprise, surprise, Alabama and the rest of the south leads the pack of racist tweeters.

They don't even list their "racist terms" they searched for. Fuck them.

I live in Georgia and I can honestly say that people from up North are way more racist than people here.

I call bullshit, Boston is the most racist city I have ever been in and I was raised in the south, I bet most of these tweets were from blacks screaming "ha ha my nigga Obama won again!!!!"

Wow, such a bias against the South on this site. Evidently this doesn't happen up North? Oh well, enjoy the snow.

In all fairness, they should check this again during the NBA finals.

And what about all the racist tweets against Romney and George Zimmerman? Also against Mia Love and Stacey Dash. Oh that's right, only whites can be racist.

Most raciest tweets are coming from one single account in Long Island

I'm sure the geographic correlation between this post and "The Effects of Education on Voting Trends" is merely a coincidence.

I read the article and the entire survey is racist. The searached for tweets using racist terms only for black people. I guess only blacks can be victims of racism? How about including tweets with hate speech or derogatory terms for white people?

Here is their definition of a "racist" tweet...

"...we collected tweets that contained the text "monkey" or "nigger" AND also contain the text "Obama" OR "reelected" OR "won"

I guess my tweet "I won a toy monkey at Buster & Dave's" was racist.

Being surprised that Alabama is the most Racist state is like being surprised that rich people get special treatment or being surprised that Chris Christy eats seconds at every meal

All people of all types are at least a little bit racist. Anyone who denies this is a goddamn liar.

@bobneedsmoney People up here generally know enough not to publicly post racist stuff because it's evidence. Well not me but other people are smart enough to avoid posting racist stuff publicly.

@Roadrash Hicks most of those tweets that contained "nigger" around Atlanta were by blacks in the metro area

@Roadrash Hicks well there was a klan rally at Dave and Buster's at the time... Even the KKK can't hate their hot wings...

@SkilledDayLabor well their gathering method is faulty, you can bet 99% of those using the n word were blacks in Alabama of which there are plenty but I will say they are shocked to see white people help them. I helped push a black guys car off tux road once and he was surprised I cared enough to help.

@Ezra_san only against black people. No other race is subjected to hate speech or violence based on their skin color. Obviously.

@Docintoxicated yeah I know, I worked up in Concord for 2 years, I was shocked at how they let the racial slurs fly around me. They even talked shit about people I worked with and then acted shocked when I told them not to speak that way about my friends. They didn't speak to me much after that and I was raised in the south in some of the most hillbilly/redneck areas.

@bobneedsmoney  @Docintoxicated People here (especially employers) are very uptight about the race thing. We have to be very careful about what we make public. There is a certain image they try to put out. Personally I fucking hate it, rather have people speak their minds. Also way too many racially repressed knee-jerkers around that will boycott and bitch about shit at the drop of a hat.
