I know what I'm seeing when the supposed best teams in the country are scheduling non-conference games against teams that start with a direction. Alabama has 2 this year - Western Kentucky and Western Carolina.
And their fans aren't embarrassed by it?
@jygord Oregon did have a shitty schedule. Even with the 5-year planning, they knew those were shitty teams. If Alabama hadn't lost, it may have cost them (rightly) a shot at the National Championship.
Oregon State played Wisconsin and BYU. UCLA played Nebraska and Houston. USC played Syracuse, Hawaii, and has Notre Dame in a couple weeks.
I hate Notre Dame but their schedule is brutal - Navy was the only push over.

Oregon's first 3 games were against arkansas state, fresno state, and tennessee tech. I don't think you did enough research.
