Could Smokers Licenses Be Coming!?

Tobacco control advocates are now calling for smokers to have to apply for a smokers license in order to buy cigarettes. One advocate called for the card to be monitored by the government and it would cut you off once you’ve had your allotment of cigarettes. Right now this is theory, but what kind of person advocates for this? Bet they can’t wait to propose their sugar and tans fat cards next.

See these fuckers don't really care about smoking. They just want to see how much money they can squeeze out of smokers.

the final quote from the professor is the epitome of paternal academic liberal thought: the public doesn't know what's best for them, luckily we're here to show them

The only thing that kinda makes sense in the tobacco control argument is the amount of money spent on health care for to tobacco related illness.

Sure it's someones choice to smoke but the figure as far as the cost in insurance costs and all that to the rest of us is substantial

I just don't know

@K Dubya that's the only argument I can imagine, cholesterol and sedentary lifestyle are at least equally burdensome.  This will not look like some Orwellian govt mandate, in the US it will be enforced by insurance companies through prohibitively high premiums for smokers and discounts if you have a gym membership
