the funny thing is Obama didn't do anything to win. The Newts and Perry's made Romney go so far right. He could never find the middle again.
Guy down the street has yet to take down all his Romney signs. It's both sad and funny. This "patriot" flew his flag upside down during Obama first two years of office.This display of defiance will not win elections at least not in his favor.
The GOP needs to identify what their party really is: fiscally and socially conservative. That's totally fine. Moderate conservatives, people who are fiscally conservative and socially liberal, need to create a new party for themselves. The way the population is growing, the GOP will become obsolete quickly.

@OllieInChicago The GOP also needs to stop spending millions to defeat other GOP members who may not totally align with all of their beliefs. Across the country special interest groups have been spending tons of money and running their own candidates against nearly identical candidates within the same party. The special interest groups are mostly made up of rich donors and some donations are accepted from outside of states. It's more apparent than ever that wealthy folks are trying to buy spots within government to run the whole thing.

@OllieInChicago I'd join that new party, Ollie, but it would siphon votes almost exclusively from the GOP. Unless a similar moderate left wing party is established it would just be like gift-wrapping every election for the Democrats. We're doomed to this shitty two party system for eternity.
@OllieInChicago The right hated Mitt but had no choice in the end. Someone like that might be more successful running as an Independent and admitting the social issues are settling themselves, just don't interest them, and the economy will be their focus.

Exactly. "The numbers we had, the polling we were looking at looked like we stood a pretty good chance of winning" sums up the problems facing the Republicans- not enough respect for facts and reality. If they were this far off and disconnected why the FUCK should anyone vote for them to run this country? For Christ's sake, I would vote for stupid blogger Nate Silver before Romney/Ryan, he obviously has a better grip on reality.

Well of course you were.. Stop watching Fox news 24/7... Stop using republican pollsters.. No wonder the Romney campaign was so misinformed. This was the least informed I have been about a presidential campaign in years... barely watched anything and I knew Obama was gonna win.
If you were so sure why did you run for your congressional seat. ? If you had won the taxpayers in your state would have had to pay for another election! Way to look out for your constituents !
