You know how you like PTI because it’s a live show with 2 witty guys giving unrehearsed opinions. Yeah, you may not want to read this.

Tony's local DC radio show used to be that way. It was syndicated on ESPN radio but the internet link to listen was done through the local radio station and they didn't give a shit. PTI is really just a more produced version of those early shows. Their slogan used to be "This Show Stinks".
Nothing too revealing there. The only thing I find funny about ESPN is when people think Skip Bayless is being himself and not obviously playing a character for tv.
Tony gets off a couple of good one liners every show and I listen to it as I am cooking dinner usually but to not know that these shows are bullshit and just for entertainment is dumb.
ESPN has such an obvious point-counter-point scripted format. I've been saying it for years about this show, Around the Horn and of course First Take with Stephen A and Skip.
PTI is good but Dan Le Batard is Highly Questionable is a funnier show with his Cuban dad http://sports.espn.go.com/espnradio/podcast/archive?id=6962629
As George Carlin said you have 6 different and often overlapping basic categories of masculine stupidity: 1. the car and machinery culture, 2. the military and police culture, 3. the outdoors and gun culture, 4. the sports and competition culture, 5. the drug and alcohol culture, and 6. the pussy-chasing queer-beating culture. Gasoline, gunpowder, alcohol and adrenaline.
I don't remember what point I was trying to make, besides that sports talk is meaningless drivel and dick-waving nonsense. A bunch of squawking parrots repeating what the confident men on the television said.
Is anyone surprised ESPN is 100% scripted? If you are, you're an ignoramus and you probably believe in Santa Unicorns and Everything Fez says
If you didn't know Wilbon is the typical angry black guy already, you haven't been watching the show. Nothing new here.
I would love something like this popping up for my R&F audible. Behind the scenes of Pepper screaming at interns. Fez having a lively conversation with Ron. That sort of thing.
I just like when that guy ESD went to school with is on because I like to picture Dave at his house red face screaming about his JV batting average.
