Vince Young is Dead Broke
It’s been six years since the first round draft pick entered the NFL. At one point he had a contract that guaranteed him $26 million dollars. He’s suing his former agent and a financial advisor, saying they swindled him out of $5.5 million by forging his signature and impersonating him over the phone. His entire estate is in disarray and all his representation is saying is that he needs a job. Young was cut from the Bills in August. Are guys like Young victims, or do they have this coming to them?

If you get a D1 scholarship, it should be mandatory to that you take some kind of financial / money management course.
They have to give these guys the ability to protect them selves
It was a dead give away that his former agent was faking Young's voice when he used words like "redundant" "malfeasance" and "ask".
Financial advisors are the biggest legal con men around. You give that much money to any 23 year old and that money is going to be dust in the wind if he's got the wrong people around him. That being said, 5.5 million more dollars would probably make this idiot broke in 3 years instead of now.
Ha! And the media said that the Wonderlic Test was bullshit. The media also said that the Dolphins were racist to ask Dez Bryant if his mother was a hooker. Maybe the Youngs and the Bryants are why the NCAA removed the "student-athlete" moniker.
He should have payed attention to Jamarcus Russell, there is a guy that knows how to brag his signing bonus and run.
You know, I saw it reported on the local news tonight that agents and financial advisors are scumbags. They used a different word, though. Oh yeah, Jews.
why would he be a victim. If I won the lottery then blew all the money, would I be a victim? No, I would just find a job a go back to work.
The problem with Vince Young is Vince Young. He was blessed with the arm of John Elway and the brain of Fez Whatley.
As a Bills fan, I wish they never cut him, there is no way tyler thigpen is better than him. As for the $ woes, it happens, whether he is telling he truth or not people will find anyway they can to scam naive new rich people. I'm sure he could have spent his money more wisely, but I'm also sure there was someone on the other end saying it wouldn't ever run out.
They gleam this kids as early as they can find them. They KNOW who has pro potential and from that point on the guy doesn't get any life lessons. So you DO end up with a millionaire with the mentality of a 13 year old, the roid driven sex drive of a 27 year old, the money and the yes men of the President and a couple of 'Trusted' advisors that will take every last damn sent.
Leon Spinks pushes a broom for a living. Poor millionaires indeed.
You want to fix the problem you are going to have to go back to the earliest stages of the sports game and take all the money out of it. By the time our local boys and girls are in middle school the sports leaning kids have already been to specialist camps. If they're rich, they're there but if they show raw talent, somebody foots the bill. Less then 2 months ago some college Junior got in trouble when without any job, he managed to go out and buy 100 grand worth of jewelry. That's what's corrupting sports in America.
@WilliamFBaldwin Can they just pay some geek (their future agents and accountants) to take the tests for them?
@Kevin in SC Over the years, change inevitably falls into the space between the couch cushions. It adds up man.
@Kevin in SC Said Sirius lawyers after reviewing Fez Whatley's contract.
Well then he should go digging in his couch. Its probably crashed into the basement by now if theres $26M in coins under the cushions
