This actually just FML this past weekend. Known the guy for 3 years, neither of us speaking of the attraction between us (he is married and I am in a long term relationship). All of a sudden this weekend we're drinking after a party and he brings it up. I was screaming inside my head "oh no not now! definitely not the time or place or level of sobriety to discuss this!"

Women can be friends with men but men cannot be friends with women. Every guy friend I've had that I thought was platonic actually wanted to bone me at some point or another. Women separate men into two catagories; friends and potential dates. Men just categorize women based on how badly they want to fuck them (even if it would take a lot of alcohol and a darkened alley). @SarahMcSassyPants I'd also add that chicks will associate with a guy if he has something to offer them... drugs, money, favors, free meals, he has a nice car, can fix stuff, if he has status with in a particular group, he's in a scene or band or if he just pretends to listen to her inane babble. And, she may have no intention of either being genuine friends or putting out. A guys only motivation is sex. Unless he's gay. In which case, all bets are off.

Not really. If you're hanging out with a chick, either you're thinking about banging her, or your chick THINKS you're thinking about banging her. It's a no-win if you're in a relationship.
If you're single, then yeah, it's possible, but usually just to get with her friends.

Even if your female friend is unattractive, even if you have bigger and better things going on, even if it is definitly never going to hapen, sex is always an elephant in the room. That's just common sense for most guys. Don't know why so many women would debate it. Either in denial or have a super low sex drive.

I love being friendly with all woman but friends with them; not so much. As an adult i dont have the time to be a friend with a woman that I don't want to engage all of myself with. Strangely, I feel like it would almost be selfish. I mean, when I do have the time I should spend it with my sister. I don't know if my attitude is right or wrong its just how I feel. Its a pleasure to be able to work with lots of women so I get to still be friendly with them regularly without being friends.
