Boxing Figures Out How To Piss Off the Rest of Its Fans
Over the weekend, the latest controversy occured in the boxing world. Tim Bradley Jr. was declared the winner in a split decision over Manny Pacquiao for the welterweight title. Virtually every other broadcaster and organization had Pacquiao winning the fight handily. Twitter exploded with people outraged at the decision, Bradley was booed as the decision was announced and Bob Arum, the promoter for both fighters had this to say:
“I’ve never been as ashamed of the sport of boxing as I am tonight. I’ll make a lot of money off the rematch, but this was outrageous.”
Watching the fight, you saw that Tim Bradley was out of his league nearly the entire time. Luckily there’s a rematch set for November 10th that hopefully no one will buy. Buzzfeed pulled together a collection of pictures telling the full story of the fight including Pacquiao’s fans in the Philippines distraught over his loss.
