In 1984, Saturday Night Live writer Tom Schiller wrote and directed a sci-fi comedy that starred Zach Galligan of “Gremlins” fame and co-starred Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.

“Nothing Lasts Forever” is about an aspiring artist joining a group of radicals who plan to drive a bus to the moon. Bill Murray plays the bus conductor and Dan Aykroyd played Galligan’s boss. The film goes back and forth between color and black & white, it also uses clips from old movies.

According to the Telegraph, the film was never released and Schiller believes it was because the film wasn’t “commercial” enough or that the use of so many old film clips caused copyright problems for the studio.
